Fern Gully

  • The gum trees in the fern gully were planted in 1974.These trees were planted as tube stock by Margaret Reid and her mother
  • The ferns were planted 1992 and 1994
  • The gully used to be covered in shoulder high wild oats and blackberries

Rocky Hill

  • The first trees and shrubs planted in 1994
  • The ferns on Rocky Hill were planted 2003
  • The garden comprises mostly of Australian native plants
  • Non-Native flowering plants were introduced later to attract more birds
  • Rocky Hill used to be overgrown with every woody weed imaginable including blackberries, gorse, hawthorns, and cape broom weeds.
